Note to Reader: The videos in this series were captured during my 1,000-mile hiking quest in the summer of 2024. You can read more about that journey in my upcoming book The Woman on the Ferry: A Journey of 1,000 Miles to Redefine Success and Discover Joy.

I began my 1,000-mile hiking challenge on May 19, 2024. For nearly a month, I explored the local trails of southern California before setting off for the summer in my RV. During that time, I developed a deep appreciation for two favorite spots: the Pacific Crest Trail to Eagle Rock and the trails in Dripping Springs Campground, located in Cleveland National Forest and the Agua Tibia Wilderness.

Dripping Springs offers two trail options: the Dripping Springs Trail and the Wild Horse Trail. Both are steady uphill climbs but strikingly different in character. On this particular day, I opted for the Dripping Springs Trail, known for its winding switchbacks and unrelenting sun exposure.

As I ascended to higher elevations, I found myself surrounded by towering yucca plants in full bloom. Their stalks stretched skyward, dotted with creamy blossoms that buzzed with the energy of busy bees. I paused to capture the scene in a 60-second video, soaking in the symphony of birdsong, the hum of pollinators, and the whispering breeze. It was a simple yet profound moment—a powerful trifecta that I hope you can experience through my video.

Checking my mileage at the end of the hike, I felt a surge of excitement. My RV departure date was just around the corner, promising new trails, fresh adventures, and endless opportunities to explore the unknown.
